Rivers and Wells Day 2; The New Testament Sacrifices (Evening Session 1)

An altar is a raised structure where sacrifices are made or incense are burnt. An altar can be an instruction, location or timing.

In the new testament, the sacrifice of Jesus has perfected us together. There is no need to make any sacrifice for sin because Jesus has perfected that sacrifice (Hebrews 9:25-26; 10:14).

An altar always has sacrifices and these sacrifices make impacts. There are some sacrifices to be made in the new testament, some of which are:

  • Prayer altar/sacrifice
  • Prayer must go up to God from that place of faith. One of the first things to do in the place of prayer is to find the will of God, afterwards you can now go and pray for the manifestation of these things. It is what God wants to do that we partner with Him in the place of prayer.(1 Kings 18:1)

As you carry out certain instructions, you are making a sacrifice and you must do them with the consciousness of it being a sacrifice.

  • Giving
  • Your giving is not an expense, it's a seed; sow it! (Philippians 4:18)

  • Praises
  • Another new testament sacrifice is giving praises to God. When you give praises to God, you are giving a sacrifice, and that sacrifice would have an effect in your life. (Hebrews 13:15)

    As a thanksgiver,
    • Things multiply in your hands(John 6:11)
    • Miracles happen at the command of a thanksgiver. (John 11:41,44)

You're not just singing and dancing, you're offering a sacrifice that can turn your situation around.
